Our Terms of Work
-
Additional Work & Materials: Any additional work must be confirmed in writing with an agreed price before proceeding. If unforeseen additional work is discovered after the estimate is provided, the client will be informed, and a course of action will be agreed upon before work continues.
-
Completion & Delays: We aim to complete all agreed work by the specified date. However, completion depends on the availability of materials at the time of work. Clients will be informed of any supply issues or other factors that may affect delivery times.
-
Removal of Old Covers: Old upholstery covers will be removed and discarded unless the client requests their return.
-
Compliance with Fire & Safety Regulations: All new fillings for furniture manufactured after 1950 will comply with the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire & Safety) Regulations 1988. New covering fabric supplied by us will comply with these regulations unless it contains over 80% natural fibres. In such cases, an inter-liner that meets regulations will be used. Furniture made before 1950 is exempt from these regulations.
-
Client-Supplied Fabrics & Materials: A 15% surcharge will apply for handling fabrics or materials not supplied by us. Clients supplying their own materials are responsible for ensuring they are suitable for upholstery and comply with fire safety regulations. While we can offer advice on suitability, we cannot be held responsible for client-supplied materials. Shortages in client-supplied fabric are the client’s responsibility. If a woven or printed fabric cannot be pattern-matched accurately, we will notify the client for further instructions.
-
Fabric Handling & Delivery: Fabrics sent directly to us must have the client’s name clearly marked on the delivery note. Fabric suppliers should roll all fabric on tubes to prevent creasing. While we will attempt to remove creases, this cannot be guaranteed. We are not responsible for fabric flaws. If flaws cannot be cut around, the client will be informed.
-
Damage & Repairs: A minimum charge of £50 will apply for repairing accidental damage not caused by us.
-
Payment Terms: 100% payment for materials and 50% payment for labour is required upon acceptance of the estimate. The remaining balance is due upon completion. Rush orders will incur a 20% surcharge.
-
Collection & Storage: Orders and fabrics must be received by 15th December for pre-Christmas delivery. Unless otherwise agreed, items not collected within 48 hours of completion will incur a storage fee of 10% of the full invoiced amount per day.
